By law, persons over the age of 16 are allowed to start work, under 16 can also, but there are additional requirements for the employer, workplace, working hours and the person concerned. Persons who are under the age of 15 may work in cinema, opera, circus or theater, but must be at least 13 for boys and 14 for girls who are over the age. Participation in films and theatrical performances has no age limit. An employment contract for persons under the age of 14 may be concluded but by the parent or guardian of the individual. And at the age of 14, a compulsory employment contract is concluded with the written consent of the parent. A permit from the Labor Inspectorate must be issued and a medical report must be drawn up. The employer is obliged to adjust the working hours with the school program, so as not to interfere with the education of the person. Working hours can be up to 4 hours a day with a rest of at least 30 minutes. Provided that the rest coincides with the meal time, it may not be shorter than one hour. For persons over 16 years of age, night work is prohibited, the maximum working day is 7 hours a day, they are entitled to paid leave of at least 26 working days. Again, a medical examination, a medical report and the permission of the Executive Agency “General Labor Inspectorate” are required for the placement of the work.
