Those who are eligible to live in a student hostel are full-time undergraduate, doctoral, or graduate students. Trainees in absentia are not eligible for hostel. If you or one of your family owns a home in a given settlement, or has provided one to you in the municipality or state, you are not eligible to apply for a hostel. However, if your parents live for rent, you are entitled to one. The necessary application documents are determined by the rector of the respective university with his order. They are submitted to the accommodation committee. Accommodation in a hostel happens if you are ranked. Each higher education institution determines its own ranking criteria. Every year a ranking is done. Regardless of whether you are already living in a hostel this year, you will need to resubmit your application to qualify to continue living there. Cases where you can be accommodated in a hostel without the necessary ranking in principle: if you have a minor child and are raising it yourself; if you and your spouse have a child and are in regular training; if one parent has died; if you were in a children's home until you were of legal age and are currently a student; if you are disabled or disabled; if you are a foreign student; if you are single or you are part of a large family and your brother or sister is a student, student, doctoral student. You may file a written objection with the Rector of the University within 7 days of the announcement of the ranking in case you are not satisfied with it. Again, the Rector must rule on the matter within 7 days of the filing of your objection.
