The close contacts of persons sick and infected with COVID-19 are subject to mandatory quarantine. These contact persons are determined by the criteria explicitly set out in Annex № 2 to Ordinance № n-2 of 26 May 2022 on the terms and conditions for diagnosis, prevention and control of Covid-19 - Effective from 31.05. 2022, issued by the Minister of Health.
In order to identify a person as a contact, it is considered that he or she has been in contact with a coronavirus-19 patient within 48 hours before and up to 10 days after the onset of symptoms in the patient.
The contact person shall be quarantined at the home or other place where he / she has indicated that he / she will reside, upon the prescription of the director of the respective regional health inspectorate or his / her deputy deputy director for a term determined by an order of the Minister of Health. proposal of the Chief State Health Inspector.
Provided that the contact person has been registered as a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 90 days, he / she is not considered a contact person, except in cases where he / she works with at-risk populations (adults, people with chronic diseases) or lives in places at high risk of infection, such as social services or places of detention.
Persons who have entered the territory of the country from other countries are also placed under quarantine, when this is ordered by an order of the Minister of Health.
While under quarantine, persons are obliged not to leave their homes or the place where they have indicated that they will reside for the period specified in the prescription.
The medical supervision of the persons placed in quarantine is carried out by their general practitioner or by another doctor, and when they do not have one - by the respective regional health inspectorate.
