Pension in Bulgaria when working abroad
The employer makes your compulsory insurance compliant with the rules of the respective country in the years in which you worked in an EU Member State other than Bulgaria. When determining your pension in Bulgaria, the NSSI is obliged to take into account your internship in another EU Member State. Counting is the same as having worked in Bulgaria. In order to calculate the NSSI, you must apply for a pension. Once the NSSI determines that there have been periods of time that you have worked in another EU Member State, the social security authority automatically sends the E 202 BG and E 205 BG forms to the insurance institution in the country concerned. Form E 202 BG The NSSI examines your application for an old-age pension, officially requesting the country in question to submit Form E 205. Form E 205 certifies your periods of insurance in the EU Member State concerned. All this is done ex officio by the NSSI. Bulgaria has not yet concluded social security agreements with countries such as the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Turkey and others. That is, your length of service in these countries will not be counted in the calculation of your NSSI pension. Agreements with Brazil, Morocco and Algeria are to come into force.
