Donation is the donation of organs, cells, tissues from one person for transplantation to another person. You can be a donor alive after your death. You must state your disagreement in writing if you do not want your organs donated after your death. Organs, cells and tissues are supplied and received between EU Member States - also Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein. As this procedure is complicated, in Bulgaria it is coordinated by the Executive Agency for Transplantation, concluding agreements with foreign hospitals and dealing with all information and documentation regarding organ exchange. In order to exchange organs, there must be a transplant body with a suitable and appropriate recipient. In the absence of such a suitable consultation with other Member States. The authority shall be sent where appropriate. It is necessary to sign an agreement between the competent foreign authority and the Transplantation Executive Agency in order for organ exchange to take place. Some procedures for transmitting information between the two services are also followed. If there is an organ that is not suitable for any needy person in the European Union, it is sent to a country where there is one in need of transplantation. In order for the activity to be carried out, the medical establishment must be authorized. Documentation requirements must also be met.
