In order to obtain a tax assessment certificate, you must go to the municipality where your real estate is located and submit: an application form and a document certifying your ownership of the property for which you need the certificate. You need to take into consideration that in order to be issued a certificate you must pay the tax due on the property. If you are not the sole owner, you pay only your portion of the tax due. The participation of the other co-owners in the issuing procedure will not be necessary, so you do not need to prove their agreement. If the tax assessment certificate issued by a certain date is valid until that date. However, if the certificate is issued after the specified date, it shall be valid until the end of the year in which it was issued. The municipal council of the respective municipality where the property is located determines the amount of the fees. You should check on the municipality's website or on the spot at the municipal administration for these fees. The tax assessment certificate must be issued to you within two weeks of filing.
