A bill of lading is issued when there is a carriage of goods by road, rail or air and it constitutes proof of a contract between you and the carrier concerned. In addition, it shall demonstrate the state of the cargo at the time of delivery and its delivery to the carrier. If you are sending the goods, you must indicate their exact name and their specific properties, if any. When the carrier accepts the goods, it is the duty of the carrier to check the contents of the consignment note and the condition of the cargo and packaging. Provided there are any objections, it is necessary to enter them in the bill of lading. The consignor is obliged to give compensation to the carrier or to third parties, if there are any damages, due to entered inaccuracies by him in the consignment note. The type of documents depends, in principle, on the type of shipment performed. You are also entitled to a freight record. It has the ability to issue at any carriage, but most often it happens at the road. The bill of lading is equal to the freight record for road transport. The bill of lading is important because it gives some rights to the contract concluded for the carriage. The right to receive the cargo and to dispose of it has the one who is a legitimate carrier of the bill of lading.
