SC extends the obligation of information to victims of crime

The legislature shall establish all possible victims of criminal offenses to have free access to organizations providing free psychological counseling and practical assistance.

 
Victims are also entitled to one-time financial compensation - providing state-of amount of money to 10,000 lev bodies of the Ministry of Interior, investigators and support organizations are obliged to immediately inform victims about their access to medical, psychological and any other types of specialized assistance and the bodies before which they can be alerted in violation of their rights by the competent authority acting in criminal proceedings. Missions of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Member States of the European Union should inform in writing Bulgarian citizens, victims of crime in the host country, the competent authorities in that country to which they can turn on the procedure for obtaining assistance and financial compensation as well as procedures for assisting in Bulgaria.
 
Law amending the Law on Assistance and Financial Compensation to Victims of Crime enter into force three months after its promulgation, in this period the Council of Ministers to adopt rules implementing the law. Submitted to the enactment of The amending Act requests for financial compensation were considered in previous arrangements.
