Prematurely release the rapist Evstatiev from the prison
Former Mayor of Pazardzhik and Strelcha Ivan Evstatiev will be released prematurely from prison, where he is sentenced to rape a 16-year-old girl, said his lawyer Tashken Kolcheva, reported 24 hours.
The ruling is at the Pazardzhik District Court this morning after a request for early release from Eustatie and enters into force after a week, explained Kolcheva attorney.
Ivan Evstatiev was arrested on 15 January 2016. in Strelcha, following a 16-year-old student's report that she had been raped by him at the local hotel after she had been asked. In 2017, the former mayor was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment by the Plovdiv District Court, but his sentence was reduced by the appellate magistrates of 4 years imprisonment.
During the trial, Evstatiev did not plead guilty to claiming that everything was voluntary. He was detained for 2 years and 7 months in pre-trial detention and imprisonment. Tashken Kolcheva and until now claims that Evstatiev is innocent.
