It should then be borne in mind that :.

Probation is a type of punishment regulated in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Bulgaria, which includes a set of measures for control and impact without imprisonment, which are imposed jointly or separately on the convict.

    Probation measures are:

  1. оbligatory registration at the present address;
  2. obligatory periodic meetings with a probation officer;
  3. restrictions on free movement;
  4. inclusion in courses for professional qualification, programs for public impact;
  5. corrective labor;
  6. npaid work for the benefit of society.

    In order to ensure the effectiveness of the administration of justice in the field of penitentiary law, cooperation is taking place between the Member States of the European Union, so that in any country you may be sentenced to "PROBATION" in another EU Member State.

    The terms and conditions for recognition of judgments and probation decisions issued in another Member State of the European Union, supervision of probation measures and alternative sanctions provided for in such a decision, taking any subsequent decisions in this regard, as well as and for sending court decisions rendered in the Republic of Bulgaria for recognition and enforcement in other Member States of the European Union.

    When a foreign state sends to Bulgaria a request for recognition of its enforcement decision, the district court of the person's place of residence shall have jurisdiction and shall be enforced in accordance with the procedure established by Bulgarian law.

    The court may refuse to recognize the decision and refuse to supervise probation measures or alternative sanctions when certain requirements are not met.

    It is also possible that at the request of a person sentenced to Probation in the Republic of Bulgaria the decision will be sent to another EU Member State, other than the one in which the convicted person has a place of residence or usual residence. The competent authority is the Bulgarian court, which ruled it in the first instance.
