In the first place, the insurance is the social security contributions that the employer deducts from the employee's salary every month. The employer pays 60% and the employee 40% of the insurance. If you are a self-insured person, you pay 100% of the insurance. Having insurances helps the insured person to get financial help if they find themselves in difficulty, for example in an accident at work, maternity, unemployment. The insurance is paid up to the 25th of the month, referring to the previous period. When working abroad, you can be insured either in your country of origin or in your country of residence. It is up to the country in which you work to decide where you will be insured. Be sure to look for information about the country where you will work, because each EU Member State has its own laws to determine its insurance policy. Where you get insured depends on your employment status.
