INSTITUTE FOR STRATEGIC ANALYSIS AND FORECASTS

By Decree No. 197 of July 26, 2022, the Council of Ministers decrees the establishment of an institute for strategic analyzes and forecasts, the organization and activities of which are governed by the RULES OF ORGANIZATION OF THE INSTITUTE FOR STRATEGIC ANALYSIS AND FORECASTS effective from 01.09.2022, adopted by PMS No. 197 of 26.07.2022

What is the Institute for Strategic Analyzes and Forecasts?

Institute for Strategic Analyzes and Forecasts is a legal entity under the Administration Act under the Minister of Finance.

Its main activity is expressed in the following:

1. prepares strategic analyzes in various areas / health care, fiscal policy, economic situation, labor market, etc. /;

2. creates and improves models for analysis and forecasting of the country's economic development;

3. develops mathematical and statistical models for resource optimization;

4. assists the Ministry of Finance in drawing up and updating the medium-term budget forecast;

5. develops forecasts for the development of basic micro- and macroeconomic indicators of the state budget, analyzing the current state, dynamics and interrelationship between basic micro- and macroeconomic indicators;

6. analyzes databases with the main fiscal indicators on a cash basis and on an accrued basis;

7. analytically ensures the process of preparing and updating the country's credit rating;

8. assists the Ministry of Finance in monitoring the implementation of reforms and investments partially or fully financed with public funds;

9. participates in working groups, forums and meetings with state, private, non-governmental and international organizations and financial institutions on issues within their competence.

How is the Institute for Strategic Analyzes and Forecasts managed?

The Institute for Strategic Analyzes and Forecasts is managed and represented by a director who is appointed and dismissed by the Minister of Finance. In the absence of the director, he is replaced by an employee designated by him with a written order for each specific case, in which the volume of powers during the replacement is indicated.
